Further to my last post stating that I would try all the suggestions to
stop the VFP hang on build, I have:

1) Removed the animated cursor
2) Completely rebuilt the project file from the ground up
3) Deleted foxuser.dbf

The hangs are still occurring but I noticed something else.

VFP is hanging when it tries to do its own cleanup on memo files. I have now
had it hang on a simple save of a form (always at 'Analyizing xxx.vct'.

Something else interesting - a friend of mine who has been developing in FPW 2.6 reminded me that we both have always had instances in 2.6 that caused hangs after working a long time without quitting. This seems to be a clue.

If I completely quit VFP and restart it, it rarely hangs (unless, of course, I
scrambled some memo files on the last crash).

Once again any suggestions greatly appreciated.
