>Therefore, it is an ever decreasing circle, that companies don't pay for VFP staff, so VFP staff turn to VB. Companies who want VFP staff can't get them because VFP staff have turned to VB.

If they're jobs and they pay better I'd think you'd see those people jump back to fox just as fast. Personally, I'll work with any tool if it pays well and I can do a good job.

We have a similar problem here. Everybody wants mainframers, especially with Y2k, so they're jumping around for as little as an extra dollar an hour. The PC folks they don't seem to want to pay for. But they whine that they can't find anybody or the ones they find have no experience. Some places will take a person who may have done mainframe COBOL for only a year or so and pay them more than a PC person with 10 years experience.

Only lately have some places started to realize that Fox, COBOL, whatever are tools and it's the demonstrated abilty that gets the jobs done. These places are paying a reasonable rate and people are staying. They work with your skills and pay accordingly not on some inflated scale.

Good employers will always be able to find good people!!
