IMHO, the best way we as VFP developers can influence the community is to cross train ourselves, secure contracts in the other language and then attempt to persuade the powers that be that VFP is the right tool. But why would they change their tools when they took you on in their preferred language?

This, again, would not work unless you were lucky enough to find some suitable contracts. As you say, without the push from MS, we as developers have no way of influencing the non-VFP communities that VFP is the tool when MS are so hard with their push of SQL and VB/VC etc.

I can't see much hope of promoting VFP without a very substantial financial backing. MS are the only people in the world who own that type of bank.
