At the very least, the entity that owns or controls a product's destiny needs to be at the core of any marketing effort. In this case, we are neither. Rather, we are customers. And, to some extent, we ultimately control the destiny, but only in a collective effort. But, that in itself, gives us no management say so.

>>I have read through all of the messages. And, I have come to this conclusion: Folks are ready to jump on board with something that IMHO, is not needed, and two, really cannot succeed.

>I have not followed the previous threads on this matter but I get your points. IMHO, the best way we as VFP developers can influence the community is to cross train ourselves, secure contracts in the other language and then attempt to persuade the powers that be that VFP is the right tool. But why would they change their tools when they took you on in their preferred language?

>This, again, would not work unless you were lucky enough to find some suitable contracts. As you say, without the push from MS, we as developers have no way of influencing the non-VFP communities that VFP is the tool when MS are so hard with their push of SQL and VB/VC etc.

>I can't see much hope of promoting VFP without a very substantial financial backing. MS are the only people in the world who own that type of bank.
