I've been coding in Fox since 1986 and I have watched some of these types of posts as well. It's always nice to know what's happening because uncertainty is hard to handle.

Real question would be to know how long will Windows 95/98 or NT be around?

This in itself will determine how long you will be able to keep coding in VFP. Right now VFP 5.0 or 6.0 is stable enough that we can be working for quite a number of years using VFP in it's present form. Sure there are bugs, but hey that's why we subclass everything so we can work around those bugs (SORRY VB GUYS!).

By the time Windows is gone off of most desktops and replaced with Linux? or whatever, all of us VFP guys will be retired because we put out better products faster than the other guys it won't matter.

The real problem in the future is the Y10K BUG! I hope I'm not around then.
