However, VFP can be used to do the very same thing [see Rick Strahl, et al]. Otherwise, a VFP DB is certainly easier to develop for and is much more cost effective. Performance difference is negligible, IMHO.

I have fooled around with developer/2000 and I think you're right, quicker & easier. Not sure about the security though, NT handles it well. Seems the $$$ is in Oracle for some reason.
