>>Anyone have any thoughts on how to go about creating a shortcut to an exe on the desktop from withing VFP5? Basically, I have a simple client files installation routine (creates a directory on the user's local drive and copies a set of network-based client files to the user's drive) and I'd like it to also create an icon on the desktop to the main client exe. I know I could use InstallShield or similar, but I'd like to keep this really simple. Any OCX's that do this?

>There are at least two ways to do this. I've posted a DLL in the download section (LNKFILES.DLL in Win32 and Other APIs) that can do this. It comes with a help (in VFP syntax). Additionally, the Windows Scripting Host can do this as well. Perhaps my friend Ed Rauh, will jump in here with a more detailed decription as to how.
