Sorry for jumping in. But here's something to consider

Niklaus Wirth, that’s the man who developed nine programming languages (Pascal, Modula, Oberon..) just got retired.

Before getting retired he pronounced following statement :

„The software slows down faster than the hardware gets faster !“

(Here’s the German version maybe someone can translate this in proper English.
Quote: 'Die Software wird schneller langsamer als die Hardware schneller'.)

Doesn’t that ring a bell ? Maybe there are other developers out there experiencing the same problems as some VFP developers do.
