Sure, I agree. But there is a limit to how efficient something can get. And it is pretty clear to me that MS always focuses on features before they focus on efficiency/speed.

There is also a cost/benefit relationship. If there is a high cost and the only people to benefit are those running NT with 486's, don't expect to see anything done.

My point is simple: We shouldn't expect more features AND better performance with every release. In fact, we should expect one OR the other.
