I've been using ODBC and the performance is not even close to comprable to a native Fox report writer hitting against native Fox tables, but in our case it is acceptable. The speed depends on the version of the ODBC driver as well. My biggest problem with ODBC is making sure the proper ODBC drivers are installed on the clients. Even with a full T as a pipe performance is noticably slower across the WAN.
