I would recommend FoxFire. I think it's easier to use and has a lot more features. For example, outer joins are supported by FoxFire, but not by Query Maker. It doesn't seem like Strategic Edge has added any significant features to Query Maker in a few years so I wouldn't expect to get any features that aren't already there.

I'm going to look at Foxfire too. However, Foxfire has also not come out with a new version in years. It makes you wonder what future either product has.
