PMFJI -- The only thing I don't like about the buck coin is that I am sure my local government will start charging a dollar/half hour to park, since there is a convient coin for it. :-(
But, I would like to see a store mark their prices with the tax -- It would encourage them to make the price for something 93 cents + tax, for a displayed price of $0.99
>I agree with you 100%. That's what the government told us when they introduced the GST that many retailers will include the taxes in their prices. Now we now that they are in great minorities. Which is more catchy for a retailer, selling price of $99.99 or $115.02 (with taxes)?

>>The best solution, IMHO, coin denominations aside is have retailers meld the tax into all products prices so what you see on the tag is exactly what you pay - no surprises at the register. They already do it with gas (52.5 cents/litre contains GST). I believe they do this in England with their VAT.
