Erik...
You're quite right. I was referring to the label's Refresh. We've gotten around this limitation by issuing a DOEVENTS in a custom method. This in turn causes any modified label captions to refresh.

>Note- except in VFP 3.0, a label's refresh method will not fire with form.refresh. For this type of thing, I usually use a textbox set to look like a label, and call the function from the refresh method.

>>>Hi,
>>>Within form designer, I'm trying to set up a function to display the caption for a field name. Basically, this function, at run time, goes awau to a file and gets a caption based on a parameter. Function as follows:
>>>
>>>=ScreLookup('SomeTexthere')
>>>
>>>This works ok, but on the design screen, the minute I put in the = sign (to work as a function otherwise it takes the text of the function as the caption) the caption becomes invisible, so I dont know if I have ANY caption there or not.
>>>Is this right and any way of suppressing it.
