The problem is compounded by the fact that when I try to configure the Fox 2.6 odbc driver I get a message saying that it is no longer supported and has been replaced by the VFP driver.

Hi Stephen,

Do you have the right ODBC driver for VFP6.0 installed and configured??
Just guessing.

A simple solutions is to just provide your data to Word in 2.6 format.
Just open your table in VFP and use the copy command with the FOX2X clause to create a table in 2.6 format COPY TO FOX2X.

And even simpler just provide a delimited file to WORD, the same format as they use for their MailMerge databases.
If I recall correctly it consists of a kinda header, with the fields definiton followed by the data.

Hope this gives you a clue where to look for?
