The only option available to me on the Property sheet regarding buffering was BufferMode, allowing "0 - default???", "1-pessimistic" and "2 - optimistic" and the Help suggested that, unless it was a GRID, row-buffering was enforced.

BufferMode 0-Default means no buffering.
If you include your table to form DataEnvironment you will see under Data properties in Properties Sheet for your Cursor1, the BufferModeOverride property, which contain 6 choices for all buffering combinations(including 0-No buffering :) Also as Vlad said you can choose any buffering mode in code, using CURSORSETPROP()
