Just a couple ideas - first, how many users actually have vfp licensed and loaded on their machines? There usually aren't many of those...as for ODBC access, that can happen, so you may have to "hide" your data by restricting server access...

One thing I always do is divide the files up into different directories - anything that does not require write access (most DBCs and some tables) go into readonly directories. Sometimes even write access tables can be divided so that certain users only have write access to parts. I use that technique a lot.

And you may already have a login process, but if you don't, at least you can screen users entering your system that way...and set server permissions very strictly as to who has data access...

If you still need more security, you can encrypt, or you can go to SQL-Server...
