>>DDE stands for Dynamic Data Exchange. It allows DDE enabled applications to pass information back and forth. AFAIK, it uses Windows messaging services to accomplish this. Since FPW doesn't have the ability to create an object reference to Excel, this would be the way to proceed.

What I'm wanting to do didn't seem that hard ... just filling in the cells of a pre-existing sheet ... but I didn't know how to start. I'm going to study over what you've given me and I think I'll find my answer there. However, if I get stuck you might hear from me again... you lucky devil you :)

You're quite welcome, Denise. Please feel free to contact me if need be. BTW, there are some examples, though not terribly instructive, in the FPW help file.
As a side note, I always find figuring these things out for myself far more gratifying and instructive than simply being handed the answer. Usually, in my fumbling attempts, I learn stuff that can be applied to more than just the problem at hand.
Regards,
George
