John,
Do you have memo field in one of your tables? I had this problem before in VFP5 after the memo file was corrupted. The memo field of one record got all the contents of the others. It became too big and I got the 'This program performed illegal operation' error when I ran the application.

>3. Reinstalled from CD
>4. BOOM! "This program performed illegal operation" at startup, just after splash screen shows up.

>>Bite the bullet, run uninstall, reboot and reinstall. None of your projects will be affected, but you may have a bad file or a bad registry entry. Either way, you'll have to do a complete uninsall to clear the registry.

>>>Talk about a bad day, suddenly my VFP5 is "performing illegal operation" at startup and won't run at all. It's been running fine for months. This is what I've tried so far:
>>>1. Reboot 5 times.
>>>2. Set RESOURCE off.
>>>3. Deleted FOXUSER files.
>>>4. Commented out everything in Config.fpw
>>>
>>>Every other program works fine including FPW2.6 and VFP6 which I also have installed on this computer. Sadly, most of my projects are in VFP5. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
