There are better tools available for creating 3-tier web apps than VFP. Hell, you can by frameworks for just about anything these days to "Web Enable" it. It doesn't mean you should.
I disagree with you, I don't think VFP is a Tool to be used to develop internet/intranet sites/apps. VFP COM objects do not integrate well with MTS, yet. I have had nothing but bad experiences with VFP COM Components with MTS. VB Components are more robust(In my opinion).
>>VFP is not so much an internet development platform. But, it does make a really good backend database for small/medium web sites.

>I disagree. For many applications, I can think of no better tool. Using frameworks like WWWC and xworks, Web development doesn't get much easier. Any serious ASP app needs to delegate work to COM servers anyway, and VFP really shines here because of its blazing text processing speed.

>As for the size issue, one of the internet's busiest e-commerce sites was run (and may still be) with VFP code and data (
www.surplusdirect.com).
