Hi Joe,

>>First, my post clearly mentioned that I was referring to this thread.

>I understand this. I meant that you missed the earlier thread. You didn't miss anything in you scan of this thread as far as I know.

Fine.

>>I saw this, and I'll say that Ed lacked tact in his response. He had a strong opinion, and he voiced. I may not agree with the way he did it, but not invalidate his point. You do him a disservice, however, by taking his response out of the context in which it occurred. In fairness, you should've also posted (here and in your other references to this), what prompted this as well. Perhaps, he offended you, but weren't you also offended at what prompted it. Seriously, which is the more egregious: Solication of a felony or lack of tact?

I'm not trying to defend Ed with what I'm about to write, merely trying to point out that I may have some understanding of why his reaction was the way it was. Of course, this is based only on my own experience, and not anything I know about Ed.

Have you ever been robbed, Joe? I sincerely hope not. Unfortunately, last April 29th, my home was broken into, all of my wife's jewelry was stolen, and my hand-made, 32 year old classical guitar was smashed to bits. To say the least, I was outraged. So much so, that I stayed home from work for a couple days in the hope that the scum would return and I could get my hands on them. By nature, I'm anything but a violent person, but that's the type of emotion it aroused in me. So when someone says "theft" to me, naturally some of that will be evoked. Because of that, when dealing with this subject, I may be a little less than tactful. I don't know if Ed's ever had a similiar experience, but based on my own experience, I can both understand and forgive his remarks.
George
