FYI. This trick doesn't work. Just for grins, I created a test table with 50 fields - more than enough to force the 'next' record to be out of the visible frame when viewed in edit mode (even with the browse window maximized). Didn't matter, VFP still will not resync unless you choose a new record that's at least two away (in current index order). Very strange and unfriendly behavior.
This is bug (not a feature!!), IMNSHO.
