Actually, I first started in programming in line oriented BASIC, then 6502 assembler. So I know BS programming < g >.When I went back to college in the late 80s is when I first encountered SP.

I'll agree with your remark about the lack of differences between SP and OOP. In fact, I know of more than a couple of people (with Ph.D.s in Computer Science) that'll be happy to argue with anyone that OOP grew out of SP. When I first encountered OOP, what struck me was how similar it was to SP, not how different. A lot of the same concepts, though in some ways referred to differently.
