The same goes with the mailing list where only 15 emails or so can be accepted resulting in an auto shut down from the mailing list when the 16th email will bounce back.

Not sure if this will help, but the problem I normally experience with sending files around is that different systems may support different encoding methods. Therefore, before sending a file on the net I end having to make sure the encoding method selected on my system is the same as the encoding method on the remote system.
Common encoding methods ( for email) are Mime and Binhex.
