>>Some visiting Japanese statisticians would like to know if there is a Japanese verion of vfp, and if so, if it's possible to do some sort of conversion on a system I developed. The second part sounds pretty hopeless to me, but anyone know anything about this?

>I looked and looked and couldn't find a specific Japanese version of VFP. There are Chinese, etc. but apparently no Japanese. I compiled my exe under plain ol' VFP, American WIN NT and when installed under Japanese Windows, it worked fine(eventualy!) I decided that what ever is needed for Japanese is built into English VFP.

I once started a thread asking why I never saw any posts from Japanese people on the UT, even though we have people from almost every other Asian country, many of which are much smaller, have much fewer English speakers, and also would need two-byte character sets to write their own languages. That thread annoyed some people, so I hesitate to bring it up again. But I never got an answer that really made sense to me, and the question seems related to this and another recent thread. I always figured that it was probably either that (1) there exists a popular Japanese-language FoxPro forum or (2) FoxPro was never sold in Japan, which still begs the question of why it wasn't.
