>There has to be something obvious that I am overlooking. I've bought 3 books and spent hours on the MS site. There's plenty of info on how to use ADO and create recordset objects of SQL data. That's easy. But then, what do you do with the recordset? I want to bind its data to controls like spinners, combos, etc. I've looked at RDS and its dataControl object, which is supposed to provide the link between ADO and controls, but I can't find an explanation of how to point the various controls to the dataControl object.

I'm not sure which books you have, but I got the Interdev book from MS press; "Inside Visual Interdev". It shows you how to do things from interdev, but take a look how the code looks after. Another good reference point is the ADO SDK available on MS' site at http://www.microsoft.com/data/ado
