During my computer science education I enjoyed the challenge of all the other languages. For foxpro development a computer science degree maybe overkill because there is so much I learned in computer science that I know I will never use if I stay in this position. Perhaps it is just the company I work for? I dunno as I said I just graduated last year and don't have too much experience in the working world yet.

If they still teach CS the way they did when I took about 8 courses 10-15 years ago in Pascal, Fortran, and C, it's not reality...I learned every kind of search/sort/tree algorithm, spent entire courses on them...and then what? Along comes technology like Rushmore, and all that stuff is out the window :)

The courses that would be practical now should emphasize web, network, DB, and GUI stuff, along with a little of the traditional...
