I had a similar problem. I have an app that starts with a login form and project selection form that are in the VFP _SCREEN. After this I would set _SCREEN.Visible=.F. and DO my Top-Level Form. My form would appear but would never be initially selected. So I changed the .WindowState property to 1-Minimized and in the forms .Activate Event I put This.WindowState=0 (Normal) and now it works great. HTH
