Don,
As I said ... No luck with FLUSH! FLUSH will probably help you in a stand alone system to make sure that the data are on disk in case of power failure.
Anyway, my problem is not solved. Remember it? Other stations cannot access the last lines that were appended.
And it gets stranger as I investigate it. Dig this: in Foxpro for DOS, there is no problem. When you browse the file it includes all the lines that are supposed to be there. In VFP on the other hand, and executing the same browse, the last few lines are there ..., but unreadable (remember that I am talking from different stations, than the ones that append the records).
I've noticed another anomality in network processing, and this one is rather easy to check. Append a record on station (say 1) and then USE the file in station 2, set order to the primary key and then issue GO BOTT. You will get an error!
I've my append blank - replace statements to insert into ..., to no avail. Still the same problem.
I sense a kind of cashing to which VFP would be sensitive and FPD not.
Best, though somewhat desperate regards,
Marc
