Without seeing your overridden properties and without knowing what classes you are using it's impossible to give much more help.

If you can post a minimal fragment of the prg that does the DO FORM it might shed some light. Have you checked that you are not setting ReadOnly=.t. or .Enabled=.f. on the controls?

Other than that you can fire up the debugger and look at the object properties at runtime when it's working and when it's not to see the difference.
