>>My vfp6, SP3, has lost its help file. What is it called, and where would it be in a default installation with the usual folder structure? Reinstalling would take a while, but I will if necessary. Could installation of service pack 3 have blown it away?

If VS is installed, then it's probably MSDNVS98.COL. If Bret is a MSDN subscriber, then it could be MSDNnn0.COL (where nn is three numbers. I think they represent the last digit of the year and the quarter 0-3).
