>>>My vfp6, SP3, has lost its help file. What is it called, and where would it be in a default installation with the usual folder structure? Reinstalling would take a while, but I will if necessary. Could installation of service pack 3 have blown it away?

>>The name of the file is FOXHELP.CHM; if you've got the MSDN docs installed, you'll find it in your MSDN doc folders; I believe it even gets placed in these folders as a part of a Visual Studio install, rather than in the default VFP directory.

>If VS is installed, then it's probably MSDNVS98.COL. If Bret is a MSDN subscriber, then it could be MSDNnn0.COL (where nn is three numbers. I think they represent the last digit of the year and the quarter 0-3).
I've gone in by hand and edited the help file back to FOXHELP.CHM; I find it too confusing when I want context help inside of VFP to have the MSDN context, and I have an icon that takes me to the MSDN right on my QuickLaunch bar IAC. My NT development box is actually pointed at HackFox.CHM from
Hacker's Guide To Visual FoxPro 6.0 instead...like I said, the MSDN is right there, along with the SP3 add-on help file... Gives me the best available options at all times!
Now if I could just figure out how to hack the .COL to include HackFox and the add-on help from VFPCOM and SP3, I'd be really happy!
