If they weren't put in place by a Setup Wizard installation disk set, the first thing I'd suspect would be the runtime install, since the problem appears on multiple platforms and on different machines.

You might consider ordering the SP3 on CD from Microsoft for the nominal (~$20 for S&H to points in the US at least) charge rather than downloading it from msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads

In addition to these files, there are also 4 registry keys that need to be created that are not handled through self-registration - a template .REG file comes with VFP6 that describes the needed entries.

You can incorporate a runtime-only distribution disk set into another installer's process and run the Setup Wizard install by passing appropriate command line switches to it.

I used Wise InstallMaker. I do have SP3 installed. Also, the installation works fine on a variety of other PCs.

I'll take a look at VFP6R.DEP and try the Setup Wizard for the runtime and see if that helps.

Thanks for the ideas.
Cyril.
