I think Francisco is right. There is a way of avoiding both send and receive when using the MAPI Session control; that is by editing MAPI Session properties (right click the object and select from pop-up menu)and deactivating the "DownloadMail" checkbox. Maybe is just a matter of setting that property to false from Nigel´s class.
