I need to store some infomation about the local machine in my app. The registry seemed like a logical choice, but I have seen some complain about "differences" between 95/98/NT registries. So then I thought I should use an .ini file, but I read where people have sworn off using .ini files (no explanation why). Please share your opinion on this subject, and why you feel the way you do. Thanks for your help.

The one huge 'CON' I've had with this is that some LANs, like mine, lockout pretty much everyone from registry edit access...
