I wouldn't recommend FP 2.6 for a Chinese localization. As Arnon pointed out, FP 2.6 isn't mult-byte enabled, which means that it'll be a complete pain to store chinese characters in data because some (most) characters will be 2-bytes long. This is indexing and display and parsing hell.

VFP 5 has (or will have) a chineese version. I reckon with all the hassles in 2.6 you could do a complete rewrite in 5.0 and probably be way ahead, with fewer kluges in the box...
