>Here is my NT4 workstation problem, part technical, part corporate politics...

>On an AST P/75 (128mb RAM) one of our computer support techs managed to get NT4 working. He had to jump through some hoops to find a video driver that worked but after that the install has been trouble free for over 1 year.

>I have asked the tech guys to do this install on 3 more identical pcs, they gave it a try ran into some problems then gave up. Pushing them to continue they came up with a policy that NT4 won't be supported on less than a P133. I am dead on the water.

>What I would like to do is to "ghost" the working machine. From what I understand this is not nearly as straight forward as with Win95. My questions:
>- what software can I use to do this?
GHOST can do this, but there's an issue with the machine's SID. Other (unfortunately more expensive) products like DriveCopy Professional have utilities to adjust the SID properly. There's a whole lot of stuff on cloning NT systems on the MS Website, and in the MSDN scattered all about.
>- is it advisable or simple?
It's not tough with DriveCopy Professional; there may even be a currect (commercial) version of GHOST that handles this for you available by now, since they were recently bought out by someone else.
>- what will I have to change (IP address, computer name, anything else)?
At a minimum, IP address, computer name, SID, and possibly some other related items. DriveCopy Professional addresses this. If there's
any variation in hardware, things will most likely break.
