Yeah, it appears that saving a file as a XLS only allows for 16k.

Hmm. Not saying that I've never used a butter knife as a screwdriver but since the file is already created from VFP and OLE pops up Excel with the file open, it is extremely fast. I may be wrong but to use DataToCLip method seems like an extra step, and a fairly BIG one. IOW, I have to create the table anyway. As an example let's say that I do a query that results in a table with 45,000 records. Now if I can just open that file in Excel then that would be great! But it would require an extra step to copy that file and paste in excel.
I've seen other systems that do the copy/paste thing and I can usually go get a cup of coffee and come back before it is done. In all fairness though, I have never done it that way in my system. But to break up my file into 3 files and open 3 worksheets may not be any faster...
