Thanks for your help and patience (as I struggle with class definitions et al...!!). Well I created a class library called VIEWFORM, added a class called PREVIEW FORM using the class designer, and changed the properties to have it Maximized, Top-Level Form, etc. Finally, I got the REPORT FORM... IN WINDOW command to execute. Now what happens is this...:

1. have to right-click on my app's task bar button and select MAXIMIZE for the report preview window to appear.
2. Although it DOES appear, it is BEHIND my app's window... which cannot be moved or minimized.
3. the "Report Designer - my report.frx - page 1" window appears INSIDE the MS Visual FoxPro main window / desktop.
4. closing the preview window ('report designer') still leaves the main VFP desktop on the screen.

Any suggestions? Ever in the NY area- I'll buy ya dinner if you can come straighten this out! <s>
