They mentioned that somewhere between 60-80% of programmers change careers once they hit 40 cause they are tired of always having to study and constantly being behind the 8-ball.

Well, I can definitely relate to some of that ... being constantly behind the 8-ball is extremely frustrating. However, I love this work and can't ever imagine burning out on it! And I love learning new stuff (altho there's never enough time to do it right and learn it quickly).
