Create a DBC, then create a connection using the VFP ODBC driver. Specify the data source is a free table. Select the free table. Create a remote view to the table using that connection.

No way would I use VFP to directly interact with production tables still in use by a FPW2.x app. You could accidently render them inaccessible from the 2.x app by converting them to VFP tables.
