Ed,
What is th BackColor of the form? Is it better if you set it to white? If so you should create a .MSK file that is all black the same nams and size as the BMP. You might also try using an Image object instead of the Form.Picture. VFP6 fully supports JPG.
>When a picture of the current object is available to a user, a button appears (PICTURE.Enable= .T. if FILE(part_no+'.bmp'))...

>When I pull up a picture in any other application (other than this FoxPro process) the Bitmap is crisp and sharp but ...
>
>The user clicks Picture (a form opens whose picture property is set to the filename) but the image is "Yucky".

>How can that image be cleaned?
>The .jpg files are smaller, is their a way to have FoxPro use them instead of bmp's?

>I can not use the picture field to contain the image - as the overall performance of the application is negatively felt. Any other suggestions? All comments welcome!
