Hi Steven,

I've been using Codemine recently and I have been pretty impressed with it. I have not seen any issues with performance, its fast. Their support has been excellant, I have used both e-mail and phone support and have received rapid responses both ways. One thing I like a lot is the ability to customize or even ignore it. At install Codemine provides a complete set of their classes already sub-classed which you can change in any way you wish without any concern for updates over writing your changes. Also, I've dropped code and forms into this project that were previously constructed, without Codemine, and they work without change. I don't think that there is backend support, but I'd suggest you send an email to support@codemine.com to ask about that.

>I am considering buying a framework. I've looked at Codemine's demo, as well as The Mere Mortals Framework's demo. I'd like to look af VFE's demo, but it's not ready yet. While the demos are pretty impressive, they don't address a few things I need to know before making my decision. I'd like to enlist your opinions on the following questions.

>1) Right now, I only need to access local Foxpro tables, but will likely need to access an SQL backend in the near future. Which products handle both the local and SQL backends? (and how easily do they handle the backend interface, how efficiently, and how quickly?)

>2) I need rapid responses for potentially large data sets. How much does the overhead of the framework effect the overall speed of the application?

>3) If I run into difficulty with the product (either in developing an app with it, or after development, when the app is running at the user site), will the company that developed the product answer my questions? and, is there a cost for this service?

The best thing about having my own business is that
I get to choose which 20 hours a day I get to work!
