We just got done testing out the generic VGA driver and there was no black out at resoulution 640x480 16 colors, 800x600 256 colors, SVGA 1024x768 256 colors. Then went to 1024x768 16bit colors then it started to have the black out problems again. Then went to 1280x1024 with 256 colors and that seems to work OK also. So our conclusion is 16bit color is the culprit. We will be contacting Gateway and let them know. Just thought you would like to know.
