That's *exactly* what I have done. I even quoted from MS docs. They are clearly targeted to different markets which should say a lot about the respective products.

I am working with sales people who know little about technology. They have been "sold" on Access by peers or friends who are sales people who know little about technology. They see some novices create a screen with a push button and they think Access is gold.

I think I have brought up numerous excellent points but their ears are closed. I can only hope that some hard core comparisons will help.

Instead of evaluations I should be looking for performance comparisons.

Thanks.

>>Can anybody refer me to database product reviews including VFP and other popular products e.g. Access? In particular, we have a movement here towards Access that I cannot seem to overcome. Some hard comparisons from reliable sources would help.

>This isn't a hard comparison, but the first thing I tell people is to look at how the two are packaged. Access is an end-user product that comes with Office...another end-user product. It isn't designed for serious development. Yes, you can create programs with it, but you can also create programs with Excel or Word. They all support VBA. VFP is a developer tool. It comes with Visual Studio, another developer tool. VFP is fully object-oriented and has the fastest database engine.
