Can you back that up? I believe it once was true; I believe the French (from France) in their language arrogance like to promote that stereotype. Even at the height of French colonialism, including Africa and Indo-China, I don't believe France had the reach - and certainly not the power - of the British empire. English, the C/C++ of human languages, is taking over.
