I just did a simple test by adding a timer to an existing form. I tested the resource usage prior to the test and again with the timer running. There was no difference in CPU usage at all! I'm sure there is somthing going on, but it is so small it doesn't even register. I think along the same lines as Bruce; it was an issue years ago, but not now.

One more opinion.

>I'm considering adding a Timer to my application object but I'm a little concerned about how much processor time this might take. It seems to me that Timers must be fairly intensive as the system must be constantly checking to see whether the interval has elapsed. I believe this may be true even with a large interval (I'd be using an interval of 1,200,000 (20 minutes)). So, to be concise, do timers take a lot of CPU time & are they constantly being checked? Thanks in advance for you response.
