I have a VFP5 application that drives Word97 using OLE to do merging, etc. One of the features is that I use is bookmarks in the docs to place BMP images (this is for dynamic electronic signatures) and print the document to an HP5si on the network. The client is saying that intermittently, none of the graphics print, right in the middle of a job. (Using same docs, same bmp files!) Sometimes rebooting the machine helps, but not always. Sometimes, just playing with the video driver, changing it and setting it back, seems to fix it. Same with print driver. Same with installing SR-2, but eventually, the problem comes back. I have exception handling in my code that checks to see that the BMP file exists on the disk and I grab a blank.bmp (just has a line in it) if the signature field is blank or sigs are not allowed for that particular document. I know it's not my code, because they can turn right around and print again and it works! We also have the same problem with a VFP report form that prints checks. It will intermittently not print the signature either. Does anybody have any clue as to how this can be and what we can do to make sure we don't continue having this problem. Very frustrating! Other than this one nagging problem the application kicks ass! Both the client and myself are growing weary. They are a very high volume document production job shop.
BTW, the OS is Win95 and the print queue is serviced by NT4.0.
