Just adding some. . .
An app. that does a real big bunch of locks, like possibly under TRANSACTION processing, can cause Server trouble too, especially if there were lots of users doing likewise. Server settings can help, but sometimes a re-think of the app could be required.
Technically still not a VFP problem though.
Cheers,

>>So to go back to the question Eric asked. VFP can support any number of users. The problems arise when the server holding the data falters under the load. Is that correct?

>Yes, I'd say so...either simultaneous hits or total number of hits can cause trouble, but the problem is not vfp at that point.

>Of course there are other issues, like users doing heavyweight processing on tables, that can cause trouble - that's been a problem I've had several times. The users doing the processing were okay, but other users couldn't get in, and in fact one time we brought all the servers on the hub down, just for fun :) LAN was not happy...but again, that's not vfp, I've had that happen with C programs processing large flat files, too...
