>What I have observed over the years, is that if there are 10 peoples in a metting, 9 french and 1 english, the meeting have 95% chances of being held in english.

Even if the 1 English person knows French?

>I don't mind bilingual conversation were one person talk in french and the other in english, but, question of respect, if both party are bilingual, the english person should talk in french and the french person should talk in english.

My opinion is that if both understand both languages, then each can speak in the language that he/she feels more comfortable with. After all, speaking is a means of communication, so, the goal is to achieve the best understanding between parts.

As for my self, while in Montreal, I tried to speak English with English people and French with French people and I strongly believe that this should be the right thing to do for anyone who can speak both but is neither E or F.
