VB is still the most popular language here in the United Kingdom.
VFP is slowly gaining some ground on those sites where they have both languages and so have concrete evidence of VFP's superior development time.
Microsoft have always supported VB because it was Bill Gates baby (he wrote the first Microsoft BASIC I think)
There are now several Xbase languages available for Linux and so the popularity of Xbase as a whole is likely to improve.
One of my big customers sent their whole IT group on VB training and then switched back to Foxpro after finding how limited VB is.
